Many accommodations provide the service, sometimes even free of charge, to pick you up from the airport and take you to safely to your first Fiji bed. It might be good idea to book a bed for the first night, just to use this service after a long airtravel.
When landing to Fiji you must be aware of one thing Fiji-Time. Start taking it easy as soon as you land. Things might not happen just on the clock around here.
Another useful thing to have is a local phone, it makes many arrangements much easier as not everything happens on the world wide web. You can buy pre-pay SIM cards from almost every shop. You can choose between Vodaphone, Digicel, INK. Ink being the cheapest in prices, digicel gives you free calls between other Digicel users and Vodaphone being most widely used and best reception in remote areas, so actually the best one to go with.
Nadis public transport leaves just from in front of the Airport Gates, short walk from the terminals. It should be around 1.70 FJD and 25min to get to the city-center.
